Bathtime

Bathtime is getting funner and funner lately. Lauren wants to stay in the bath for ages. She's learned how to float on her back, and swim on her belly!

Impossible to take pictures anymore...

It's pretty much impossible to get a good picture of Lauren these days. She's to busy to smile for the camera, and constanly trying to grab the camera. This is about as good as they get at the moment.

Flower Girl

Here's a picture of Lauren as the flower girl in her Uncle Bob & Aunt Julie's wedding. She wouldn't quite go down the aisle on her own and required some assistance from Daddy but she did a good job.
Now, if she would just sit still for two seconds for a picture....

Lauren the helper

Lauren loves, loves, loves to help! She loves to unload the silverware from the dishwasher, get Mommy toilet paper, set the table, and clean anything. Here's a pic of Lauren and Grammy mopping the floor this morning.

Mommy needs to be more careful!

A few days ago Lauren was playing with a stuffed pig and a play kitchen knife at the same time. Matt and I were joking about her slaughtering the pig and I stupidly pretended to slit the pigs throat - with a slitting sound and all. So yesterday Matt calls me in the room and says, "Look what you taught your daughter". She was pretending to slit the pigs throat over and over and making a slicing sound. Oye! What have I done?!?

Lauren had her first big fall the other day that scared the crap off of me. It happened so fast, I'm not sure how it happened but she fell off the couch and landed completely vertical, right on her head as if she was doing a headstand with no hands. Thankfully she didn't get hurt but she cried a lot and my heart was pounding!!

She's in the process of cutting tooth #16 now. After this, 4 more molars and we're done cutting teeth for a few years! Yay!

Daddy's birthday was on Wednesday and Lauren worked very hard to learn to say Happy Birthday Daddy! You can see it here:

New stuff

Lauren was sick a couple of weeks ago. She had a bad cold that turned into double ear infections. Unfortunately, she gave the cold to to Memaw who ended up in the hospital with Pnemonia. :(

Lauren lost 2 lbs but at her checkup she had gained 10 oz back.

She's turned into quite the little mimicker these days. When I take off her pj's I pretent to smell her feet and wave my hand in front of my nose and say P.U.! Then she waves her hand around and says PU and laughs. She's getting to the point of being able to repeat most shorter words that we ask her to. At the doctors office this week, she heard a baby crying and said "baby ki" (baby cry). She's also turned into quite the snuggler. We bring her in bed with us in the morning for her milk and she lays and snuggles with us for quite awhile. She's been wanting to lay on Grammy and sleep for another 30 minutes or so after her afternoon nap too.

She's starting to string words together into 2 word senetences more and more often:
Hi Chase
Up Please
Help Please
Baby Cry
All Done

She's also becoming quite the little helper. She loves to take wipes and clean the windows and the floor. She likes to help unload the dishwasher and the laundry and get toilet paper for Mommy when needed.
